Forces and Motion

Units to be familiar with

These are the units you will need to know for this topic.

Forces and Motion

The units you must know for this topic are as follows:
Mass: kilogram (kg)
Displacement: metre (m)
Velocity: metre/second (m/s)
Acceleration: metre/second/second (m/s^2) and newton/kilogram (N/kg)
Force: newton (N)
Time: second (s)

Movement and Position

Distance-time graphs

Velocity-time graphs

SUVAT equations

Distance/Time = Speed, as Speed is the distance travelled per unit time. We always use the standard units of metres (m) for distance, and seconds (s) for time unless specified.
When you plot a graph of distance against time, distance is on the y-axis and time is on the x-axis.
Using this information, can you figure out what the gradient at a point of this graph would represent?
